Alec's Return from Pioneer Trek

Alec and his Ma and Pa, Katie (Duke) and Mitch Jensen. He had a great time. The hardest part was watching the girls pull/push the handcart up the hill. The best part was the rest of the youth conference. He had a great time and was extremely glad he went. Whew!

Heads Up!

balloon
Originally uploaded by hunnygrams

One morning this week I drove to work, got out of my car, heard an unusual sound in the air. I looked up and right above me, this is what I saw. I have seen more hot air balloons in our valley this year than I ever have before. I always think it's going to be a good day when it begins with a balloon sighting. And it usually is.

Ethan on Mother's Day

Ethan, originally uploaded by hunnygrams.

Ethan was perfectly happy to be without his Mom as long as Grandma Hunny chased him all over the yard.

Mostly Mindy

Mindy has a facebook account and a blog, but for the most part they remain unused. She's like a hummingbird and doesn't light long enough to be bothered with log-ins and posts.
So I'll add a little Mindy news and photos.
Mindy, along with help from her decorating-diva, mother-in-law, Wendy redecorated their family room. Not that there was anything wrong with it. Country red accessories, also provided with said mother-in-law. Mindy decided she needed a new look -- one that was more
"her"....so Wendy to the rescue.
She whipped up a few throw pillows, black and white with touches of lime green, yellow, and turquoise. Those became the basis for the rest of the room.
Wendy is a wizard at finding bargain, making cute things out of ugly or old things.
They bought a couple of shelves, some foam poster board, and a few posters.
Voila! Beautiful treatment over the couch. Pictures are just foam board cut in different sizes and covered with photos cut from the posters and wrapped around the edges. No frames needed.
Next step, the kitchen!
Wish I had photos of some other views of the room... Maybe later

TWO TOOTHLESS BOYS!

Sitting in Dave n' Judy's car for no apparent reason, very proud of their missing teeth.
Kris, age five, Justin, age six.
Jarrett, joining, making the Three Musketeers, and a very cute photo.

Summer at Last !

Finally. Temperatures that are seasonal. Just in time for Christian, Alec, and Austin to re-shingle the roof. Austin stayed in Heber City on Memorial Day. He and Christian began to work on Tuesday. Alec (poor boy) is in school until June 9 since our school started later in the fall so that the new high school could be completed. He came home for lunch, and since testing was over, I checked him out for the rest of the day. He dropped his backpack right on the front lawn, and went right to the roof. Wednesday, same thing. The three of them were mega-sunburned, tired, and sore. Alec has worked some each day, but next Tuesday and Wednesday, it will be a repeat. I imagine they will finish. Christian has also tackled the cover over the patio, so that will add some time to their project. Kirk hasn't stepped a foot up the ladder as far as I know :)

Lots of family history time as I am retyping as history of the Bingham Family (My Grandma Young's parents). Finding out lots of good stuff including third great grandfather, Morris Phelps, who helped build the Kirtland and Nauvoo temples and was thrown in jail for
months with Parley P. Pratt. They escaped from prison through the help of his wife and others.

And now, Elaine at the age of one holding her one and only Beauty Contest Blue Ribbon for Miss Salt Lake City in the 1 year old category. Love my mom :)

And me at a little older age already enjoying my favorite pastime, in my little wicker rocking chair in the back yard at Grandpa and Grandma Days'. (Which was where we lived as well.)
